Some friends of ours, boarded their little aussie, Jesse, with us when they traveled out of town. A bit timid at first, Jesse soon felt herself at home and loved our outings to the park together with my own two border collies.

It seems the Sai Baba temple is having some sort of event, so they've strung up lights and blocked our lane at the Sai Baba temple end so all traffic has to go in and out from the other end.

I've been swimming every morning (with only a handful of missed days for more than a year now. It has become an integral part of my routine.

Well I have no service on my mobile, because Vi thinks my wife's visa has expired. Actually our passports were expiring (and have been renewed) and we don't have (or need) a visa. Getting service restored id proving an amazingly difficult task. Hoping this mess will be fixed soon.

Taff "Half Ear" was rescued from a puppy mill in Texas but despite having literally to fight for survival, he turned out to be a sweet little fellow who landed in a loving forever home. Happy memories.

Our lane this morning with it's new asphalt and not a pothole to be seen
December 1, 2025 at 3:30 AM
They've started asphalt work in the lane where we live, so basically we're trapped until they're done. It will be a blessing as the lane has so many potholes, but it is a disruption to life while work is on.

For the first time for a good while, I skipped swimming this morning as the pool has been reserved for an "Aqua Sound Healing" event. It's almost exactly 1 year since I started and in total I have only missed 6 days from illness or travel and one previous occasion when The Club was closed.

When you've run with your friends to your hearts content and now all you want to do is take a few minutes breather before starting again...

Just in time for Thanksgiving, we received our new passports. Good for another ten years so it may be the last time I renew my passport.

Cash, the mostly white boy, came to me with the warning that he didn't do well with other dogs, but Jesse, a small but tough little lady, showed him who's in charge. They played tug nicely (she always won!) and there was never any trouble between them.

Winter breakfast is often stuffed paratha, a dish that is served at the most sumptuous hotels and also eaten by the poorest of the poor. Today stuffed with cauliflower, onion and (lots of) spices.

Well, our carpenter has done a good job, as expected and the wardrobe is complete. Now he's busy making my wife's wardrobe.

Well, I intended to go home for breakfast, but Uber wasn't finding me a ride, so I changed the plan and had breakfast at The Club: gobi paratha, served with pickle and curd. Stuffed parathas make a solid breakfast, especially welcome in the Winter season.

I had planned to use the basil for something else, but plans got changed, so I made pesto instead. Rigatoni with olives, cherry tomatoes and a heavy handed dose of pesto with a side of sautéed mushrooms was a satisfying dinner.

This sticker tells the truth about Bombay roads; drivers must constantly swerve here and there to avoid traffic hazards of all types and sizes.

Do you ever want to hide from the world? Rhys, my ex-foster did and this is how he did it. Dumped in the pound, by the family that raised him from birth, he need a lot of time to get over the trauma. Time did heal his hurt eventually and he left us to live in a very loving home. Cariad.

All our dogs loved watermelon treats.

Not many of these around, and I haven't used it for years, but for a while it was regularly used. Do you know what it is? Hint: it belongs in the kitchen. More in the Alt text.

Our building dog is no longer a puppu, but still needs chew toy. A discarded slipper works fine.

Current preoccupation is my new wardrobe, which is being assembled at our new place. It is mostly ready, so I think the carpenter will finish his work today if all goes well.

On my way back from swimming at The Club, I frequently see hijra (eunuch/intersex/trans) at the intersections, asking for money. It just an everyday part of life here in Bombay.

Bombay has a growing fleet of electric vehicles of all types and sizes.

Our grand-daughters' bedroom after renovation by the same carpenter who is making my wardrobe. Styling was done by a separate designer. That wallpaper behind the bed took three attempts to get right, driving our daughter crazy chasing the supplier, but now it's done and finished.

One of the sweetest fosters I had the privilege to work with was Jesse. She loved chasing balls, diving in the lake, catching frisbees and was always willing to cuddle, despite the fact that she was a very useful working dog.
