I genuinely think the point of cramming all these games together is to give the big clubs (that apparently attract the most income) a better chance of winning. Arsenal Vs Villa perfectly showed that. Both teams had injuries/suspensions but the team that could afford to spend £250m in the summer won.

Feels like win win win. Villa, Liverpool, Charlotte all benefit.

In 3 years time I can see Rogers being semi permanent injured the amount of football he’s playing at a young age. Barkley (or Elliott) could easily play that position tonight.

Hopefully gives him a few more days to work at Bodymoor with the coaches to rediscover his touch. And possibly fitness, doesn’t look sharp to me.

I said in preseason, there are only 3 players in the squad who are capable of 10+ goals a season (Ollie, Rogers and Malen) so it’s vital we find a system where they can all start together. Otherwise we’re not gonna score enough goals.
