My new favourite hobby... Ripping out old telephone cables. The previous house owners had it very well wired. Replaced now with WiFi and Cat 6 cables to TVs and PS5.

Given that sponsored articles includes investigative journalism sponsored by philanthropic organisations etc, is 'sponsored" a good enough label for an advertorial?

I cannot turn off AI overview without some weird workaround, so I guess I'm trying DuckDuckGo...

The funny thing about Galway's train station redevelopment is how it's Galway where it rains so much but the roof will not even cover half of the length of the platforms...

The responses to the @dublininquirer.com survay, which indicates that serious crime in Dublin City Centre may not be as bad as it is hyped up to be, make me even more sure that those who spread fear about the city centre are mainly people who visit it less than I do (I live in Mayo).

Moody moon.

There's a conspiracy theory that the person who set fire to the Ipas centre was a resident because he was "in his socks" but the video shows them wearing runners with white soles.

It's desperate this has to be debunked but someone even posted this to Facebook to try to help the idiots understand:

"Copenhagen the world’s most bicycle friendly capital"
November 2, 2025 at 2:35 PM
...I would love even a fraction of the confidence of people who promote Danish cycling as world-leading... imagine having all this space yet still messing up cycling so much and then claiming you're the world leaders in cycling?
November 2, 2025 at 2:19 PM
Dublin is in the process of leapfrogging Copenhagen in terms of removing the dominance of traffic in its city centre, while the Danish capital is sitting on its arse obsessing over the idea of new motorway tunnels to remove traffic.

Dublin already has nothing comparable to H. C. Andersens Blvd...

Just looking back on photos of Utrecht and the beauty of the Dom Tower after the scaffolding was removed... I know it's been removed for a while but since 2015, I've been on more trips to Utrecht with the scaffolding in place than not...

There's another argument against the deposit return scheme gone...

Any collectors out there want these?

It's the one load of books the charity shop said no to, but maybe someone wants them rather them being binned?

Or major protests against shared paths being put in on a former national road -- at first I was thinking the residents might have a point if the road was made really narrow as there's no real village at that point, but no, the protest photos show there's plenty of space.

I'd agree to the extent that most people most of the time are focused on what affects them daily or weekly but most people also strongly support climate action.

The data confirms it over and over again, FF are just listening to a loud minority. People need leadership.

100% durable is a very strange claim to make and clearly not really possible 100%.

Fairplay to the judge for convicting on this... But on a less serious note, Drogheda court house should definitely feature as some kind of Imperial outpost in some Star Wars spinoff...

16 doesn't show up as an option also from it's O'Connell Street stop, and the 40s which go to the airport from outside the Irish Life centre only seem to show up at that stop but not near it.

And even at that one Google Maps option is to get one of the 40s and switch to Aircoach. 😜
