That&/ the problem with the gradual backslide. I think the best thing is to give them “goalposts” almost. You say, “when XYZ happens, that’s a sign of things going bad”. They’ll say it’ll never happen, but when it inevitably does, it almost serves as a reality check.

Why do we have to prove vaccines work with data? It’s not like it was ever up for debate before 2020.
