I think you're overestimating the age of pokemon fans (source: I was 6 when the big popularity explosion for the series hit in '99 and I'm 32) but god I'm so fucking tired of the open world bullshit in them. I haven't enjoyed a pokemon game since SuMo (and haven't played any since SwSh)
