I particularly find it self defeating for council car parks. This is the social glue that makes it a nice experience to live in an area. The local authority gets more out of that than they do from the cash.

I agree. I have previously pointed out that that scary 'leftie' Bernie Sanders has political views that actually put him around half way along the political spectrum. He would be slightly right of centre in much of Europe.

Yes, under law the driver has the clear responsibility. However it's not going to be much of a consolation if you end up dead or maimed, when by lifting your face from your phone or stopping at a clear bit of kerb you can help stay safe.
