Happy Holidays everybody! And happy New Year!

A couple of years ago I drew a winter Peanuts parody with Anna and I in place of Chuck and Snoopy. Subsequently I drew the rest of the seasons, too

Kane's revenge!

This is inspired by a throwaway joke from an episode of Make Some Noise on Dropout. I cannot, for the life of me, remember which episode, or who said it. (I watched a bunch of episodes, trying to find it, but no such luck). Shout out if you know it so I can properly attribute.

North American Elk, aka Wapiti (Cervus canadensis). Because I felt like drawing a critter, and an elk seemed seasonally appropriate.

Bird life list illustration. An acorn woodpecker. I finally saw one at the Scatter Creek Wildlife Area in Washington during the summer.

I have been bad about posting on here, but want to get back into the habit (how do we quit Meta for good!?).

I love it when a verbal hiccup turns into an illustration idea.

Vandals!

Anna and I have been brainstorming geriatric graffiti tags for a few months, and these were my favorites.

Did you know that "Trump" is slang for "fart" in England?

I can't believe I drew this five years ago, and here we are again: living through another entirely preventable/predictable disaster triggered by the sentient flatulence currently residing in the White House.

One of my favorite possessions: a second-hand copy of Spook by Mary Roach with the most incredible handwritten notes in the margins.

Happy 50th to SNL. Some little spot illustrations of some of my favorite skits. Can you name them all? (Answers in the alt text). #saturdaynightlove #art

View from the Amtrak Coast Starlight train in the cascade mountains, south of Eugene. Long train ride between Sacramento and Washington, but beautiful views.

Ben Grimm aka The Thing

I drew this straight after the first teaser images came out. Pretty happy with the design.

Among all of the stupid things that humans do, driving pangolins to the brink of extinction so we can harvest their scales really tops the charts. Especially since humans already grow their own handy and sustainable source of keratin.

Finally time for an introductory post to pin on my timeline:

My name is Dan B. I am a fish passage biologist. "What's a fish passage bio?," you might ask...

Well, anyway - In my free time I like to draw stuff. Here is a drawing of some of my favorite things.

A dragon ogre. From the Warhammer Fantasy Chaos army.

Sometimes I just really have to draw my own spin on circa-90s Warhammer.

Happy Caturday! At some point last week Orianna ate about a meter of string, and it finally passed out of her system last night. It was... horrible. She's resting today.

Having fun with the @nerfect.bsky.social #finishitfriday11 challenge.

Initially I drew some other ideas (larger screaming seagull face, Sloth from Goonies), but ultimately I just felt like drawing a big ugly pirate.

Something from the vault that I periodically feel the need to repost on my socials.

My final contribution to the caricature resolution challenge over on Instagram. I knew I wouldn't have time for the full suite of characters, so I did this instead. I envision them as some sort of crossover super group.

Coyote.

Another paper cut box that I finished about a month ago. Made from cardstock and colored PVC film.

Happy MLK day. The only thing I will be celebrating today.

... aside from my wedding anniversary.

Great Crested Grebe. In response to the birbfest challenge over on Instagram.

Made from hand cut cardstock and colored PVC film. The frame is part of a paper box that I also made so I could easily store the piece (wall space is limited).

This is also a species on my birding life list.

One from the vault. Seemed appropriate to repost this week.
