A scene from Rogue Trader in which my character is giving a speech to a crowd, having picked the dogmatic option: "Praise the Emperor, faithful souls! The darkness around us may be fierce, but the blaze in our hearts is fiercer still! Evil will burn!" The crowd erupts in frenzied cries. Hundreds of people pull out knives and with ardent, jubilant howls carve crude, bleeding Aquilas on their faces, sharing in the martyrdom of the protector of Humankind, the God-Emperor. The scene continues. Having chosen to bring my favorite companion Kibellah along, she chimes in: Kibellah: "I am your shadow, Domin'Zachary, and a shadow must remain unseen. But on this day, let all see that my blood is yours." Kibellah cuts her palm and touches her heart, lips, and forehead. As one, your subjects of all classes start slicing their hands, repeating the bloody sign.
