I was born with the capacity for rational thought. I was raised in a Christian/Catholic home, school and community. In my teens I thought about it myself and saw religion as flawed thinking. That is when I became a born-again atheist. That freedom feels great!

Well said. I saw a quote from long ago: "People will not be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest". I can appreciate that thinking. We also keep paying for supernatural beliefs by lessening the practice of rational thought.

It is the most frightening TZ episode, and now we are living it for real. Literally. I wish I could wish him and all of his acolytes and sycophants into the corn field. But in reality, the best we can do is put in all of the work that it takes, for as long as it takes, to remove these monsters.

Thankfully, we have sages like Carl Sagan to light our path so we can look back to see where we were, to see where we are, & to see where we are likely headed based on our actions & directions. I guess the challenge is to somehow jump-start people to think & ponder again. Coin-toss?
