Also, there are TONS of rental bikes and scooters in the city downtown I live in, so the $43/mo I spend is trivial for effectively unlimited riding.
I bought the bike before I lived where I do at the moment
Also it rains a lot and I keep the bike in my studio apartment so it's a bit messy

-5 min bike ride to bus stop
-30 min bus ride
-10 minute walk to store in mall (half of it inside the mall physically)
And the thing is, there's nowhere in the mall to lock the bike, and being so expensive, I'm scared of it being stolen there.

It can be hard for our pattern recognition monkey brains but you're right. Not everything repeats. I have a number of friends IRL and online I can rely on (maybe you can join that list eventually!), so if it can be done there I suppose romance is in the cards too one day!
