For the sake of posterity for if anyone ever sees this, my favorite games.

. Book of Hours
. Final Fantasy XIV
. Path of Exile
. Heaven's Vault
. Mana Khemia 1
. Suikoden 2
. SMT 3 Nocturne
. Hollow Knight
. Dark Souls 2
. Pillars of Eternity 2

And Magic the Gathering but we don't talk about it.
I swear, the amount of people who don’t know how important photobashing and blending are to concept art and just instantly claim it’s AI instead of researching common practices in commercial graphic design.

Anyone who acts like that doesn’t care about the artists and just wants to be mad.

I just witnessed an incredibly upbeat ad on Spotify for a museum’s HANDMAID’S TALE exhibit.

If there’s ever a story to have upbeat and cheery music and voiceover for, it is not that one.

They’re not “Safe words” they’re Words of Power, and that specifically is a Protective Glyph.

Is the speed that death catches up to you Momentum Mori?

I need more options in games to have helmets with aventails. Really plays into the terrifying melee combatant fantasy.

I suppose it makes sense that the right option for fighting a clown is a Carney.

The greatest advice I’ve ever been given was that if nobody cares, or if nobody understands, strive to be nobody.

I do not understand my cat. I can cook steak, chicken or fish and she doesn’t particularly care, but the moment the cereal comes out she MUST HAVE the grain circles.

I was called back to play FF14 with free game time, the curse has returned.

It’s honestly baffling to me rich people are so incredibly desperate to be loved by the public, and they won’t do the one thing that would actually buy that adoration.

Pay off the debts of as many people as possible.

I am proud to witness Tumblr officially winning the culture war with the death of 4chan.

Near and dear to my heart, the feeling of wandering around as a child in awe of the world.

I’m convinced that if anyone on the left wants to get through to the right-wing base, you have to give them what they want and respect.

Put the energy of a WWE promotion into speeches, make it a spectacle, make people look in awe. It’s never been policy, it’s presentation.

I find it hilarious that the man with a sunny-D spray tan in the White House has claimed now that the Great Depression would have been averted with tariffs.

It’s almost as if the Smoot-Hawley tariff act wasn’t the nail in the coffin that made that depression so great.

I remember growing up and being somewhat anxious of the feeling of pressure in my head I’d get when hearing music that made me emotional.

It took me way too long to figure out that’s the literal ASMR sensation.

I feel like humanity lost something important when we settled down and built cities in which generation after generation live.

The feeling of walking in a direction and only stopping when too tired to move, and then continuing onward until hill and tree vanish over the horizon. I yearn for it.

Looking at the stock market makes you see what I assume was the “red wave” that the republicans said they’d bring.

“The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all.” - John Steinbeck.

I didn’t understand just what level of selfishness could lead to this when I read The Grapes of Wrath as a teen.

I’m sure we all do now.

I’m convinced that all of my ails in the world can go away the exact moment I am allowed to play a fishing minigame..

If anyone sincerely believes that just trying to end the status quo of the US government is better than doing so while *also* voting for the lesser of two evils, they really need a reality check.

Moral superiority can’t be attained without minimizing suffering through all avenues.

A general rule of thumb that people need to remember when discussing difficult topics.

If your conversational partner is stating their viewpoints clearly and concisely and you’re refusing to elaborate to your own reasonings, you’re not “winning,” you’re not a “master debater,” you’re just dumb.

It’s disheartening realizing how the US’s reputation will likely take an entire generation to recover even if we manage to fix the systemic problems in our government.

Especially when about a quarter of the population is responsible for all this mess.

I never would have thought when I was younger that Doctor Strangelove would feel more like a documentary of current politics than a work of fiction.
April 3, 2025 at 9:42 PM
I do love how my recommended posts alternate heavily between current politics, anthropology, and the spiciest artwork available.

Really getting the full Bluesky experience.
