I am currently testing Angry Birds Bounce which arrived recently on #AppleArcade. That's an interesting take on a rogue-like Arkanoid game. Very juicy, very polished.

Rosetta 2 is now mostly deprecated by Apple.

This tool allows running Intel-based x86 applications on Apple Silicon, and most older games still use it. Or games running through Crossover.

Apple seems to be considering continued support for games specifically, and that's good news.

Speaking of Metal 4, this year brings improved upscaling, ray tracing, and frame generation. The new denoiser also seems very efficient. It will be supported on Apple Silicon Macs and back to A14.

It continues to close the gap with other graphics APIs, such as DirectX, to facilitate game porting.

Crimson Desert, Inzoi, Hitman: World of Assasination, Blue Prince, Cat Quest III, and more.

And finally, Cyberpunk 2077 will support Metal 4, so we can expect a release during the fall when macOS Tahoe arrives.
