There’s a gorgeous Mithraic temple underneath the Basilica di San Clemente in Rome too! It predates both the basilica and the original church underneath, and the temple altar and classrooms are still in great condition.

This!! Many museums also look for fossil prep volunteers, which is a great way to learn technical skills and get to know curators and other paleo folks and build/join a community
