Fair enough, but I mean, just speaking as a grassroots Java developer, record withers is the only thing I can get excited about after Java 17.

This is not my experience. Lombok provides Java upgrades that the Java team do not provide, particularly around builders.

I use that feature each day every day, but don’t try to rename a Java package though. That leaves behind incorrect import statements most of the time.

Fair point. It’s more the principle I’m raising. You might also factor in how little the paperwork really is, and how embarrassing the sustainability reports would be for the company.
