Microplastic #pollution is more than 50% higher in preterm placentae compared to full-term ones. Researchers analyzed placenta samples and found significantly higher levels of certain micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs), including polycarbonate (PC), PVC, and nylon 66 (N66).
