They very often form fairy rings, usually in lawns or parks.

The Bleeding Tooth fungus (Hydnellum peckii) has both teeth on its underside and "blood" on its top!
The "blood" is extracellular fluid, which is squeezed out when the fungus absorbs water, increasing pressure until the red fluid is squeezed out!

Fun fact: moss grows on all the buildings in town! Reasons being:
One - no one cares to actually remove it…
Two - this town is surrounded by water. Stagnant water with unwelcoming creatures.
They only attack outsiders though, so the residents accepted the ways of the swamp :з

One day, I noticed that moss started growing on the ceiling. Obviously, I didn't do anything about it (^^;
Eventually, I would end up taking baths with moss in it.
