The teenager is not wearing socks or slippers. The parrot, Cleo, is exploring under the couch. Cleo (aka 'bitey bird') pecks the teenager's big toe. Teenager squels loudly. Parrot: "are you OK?" Parents splutter into their coffee. Our house at 7.30am.
