Monday. Made roast parsnips. Mr Tig is staying in from the cold and kindly watched my book while I cooked

(My subscription of penguin clothbound classics has been the best thing I've done with my money all year)

This cat is utterly ridiculous

Taking a break from my other book for a cosy read. Haven't read a Sherlock Holmes story in ages; even more appropriate to read one set in the West country now that I live here

Today's read. I've heard so many good things about this one

The cats have not let me get anything done today

The best day is always @bertsbooks.bsky.social delivery day (okay, that was actually yesterday but I was too busy). And I'm so excited to have these beautiful copies of One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig. Perfect autumnal reads #booksky

I am admittedly not the best knitter (only really started this year) but knitting + reading are the only things keeping me sane in this hellscape. Yarn is a blend of baby alpaca and merino and I'm so looking forward to wearing it

Today's read. It's a beautiful novella and makes me wish I read Spanish so I could experience the original

Finally made it up to Blackwell's the other day, absolutely wonderful

I bought this book yesterday and it looks so interesting but I haven't heard people talk about it yet. Here's hoping it's a hidden gem!

Yayyyy it's here, my copy of the newest Cesare Aldo book, signed edition from @goldsborobooks.bsky.social

I only discovered this series a couple months ago, but I've devoured it since. I highly recommend if you like
- rich historical detail
- crime novels with complex characters

Everything is terrible but I found a near perfect replacement for my childhood teddy bear and it's made me so happy.
He's a Vermont Teddy Bear, which is so hard to find here in the UK!

Oh...that guy is horrific. He's attempting to do a white nationalist takeover of a town with Andrew Isker and pals around with Stephen Wolfe (author of A Case for Christian Nationalism). Absolutely vile racists and antisemites
June 11, 2025 at 9:00 PM
He is a violent racist, I shudder to think what he would do with even more power

Husband bought me this little guy yesterday, so of course I'm knitting him a jumper #knitting #knitsky

This, if the cat will allow me

Finished Richard Osman's We Solve Murders last night and it was a bunch of silly fun - great air travel or beach read.

Now onto this book. I love mysteries and historical fiction so I'm really looking forward to this one. #booksky

What makes a rough week better? A nice box of books from @bertsbooks.bsky.social which arrived yesterday
(And another coming tomorrow because I ADHDed too hard). Can't wait to dig into these!

I can't get the colors to show up properly on camera but I'm knitting my first ever cardigan and I'm in love with the colors and the yarn is so squishy

Back in my old hometown for the holidays and had to make a stop at Lift Bridge Book Shop. Independent book stores are a treasure 💜

I was lucky enough to be able to see The Muppet Christmas Carol with a live orchestra in Bath last night and it was absolutely magical

The world feels so dark and hopeless in so many ways right now, so I'm holding on to the simple comforts as hard as I can. There's good in this world that's still worth fighting for - including roly poly ginger cats.
