So I make my cilices by hand, which means I also make the straps - as I’m not a leather worker (yet, who knows!) I have been needing to get creative. This is my latest strap design ⛓️

After a year of contemplating I finally bit the bullet to curb my nail biting and got extensions.

There’s something attractive about being scared. As human beings we love to play with concepts bigger than us; and fear is no exception. We ride roller coasters and scream, or jump out from behind corners to startle a sibling. We create haunted houses for both young and old, and we design movies to horrify any who watch. Fear play may sound ominous to those outside the BDSM community, but in actuality it’s a natural part of the human experience. While fear play seems fairly straight forward in concept, I think it’s worth saying that “fear play” is more an umbrella of different experiences than just to be scared.  For instance, when you watch a horror movie, do you only experience fear? Take a moment to think of the last horror movie you watched. You might have experienced fear but also: shock, disgust, panic, or suspicion? Playing with fear can also mean playing with feelings we associate with fear. So, why do we as human beings feel so drawn to experiencing fear? Fear play in BDSM is the opportunity to create a personalized and controlled haunted house. (Image of a person in a sheet dressed as a ghost with a baseball cap and sunglasses on) Not everyone has the same things that spark fear, much less the same limits, so creating a fear play scene or session is the perfect opportunity to create a curated “haunted house” experience with your partner(s). The best part about fear play is that you can choose who to trust as your tormentor or tormentee; this gives you an amazing amount of control around how you want to engage with fear. A good rule of thumb in the BDSM community and choosing play partners: Do new play with someone you trust, do experienced play with new partners.

It feels frivolous to say, but we as humans need intimacy and different forms of processing more than ever. We need spaces where we can be ourselves without the fear of the world, because we create it. Yes, we will fight, and then we will play and rest. I can help us remember to play and imagine better existences. I can help us remember to rest. My (disabled) body was built for this, and my experiences have lead me here. We all have a role 🖤

Taken from emergencyindex.com: “An Illegal Operation (for Mary Toft)” was a 40-minute performance formulated as a protest against the Trump administration’s war on reproductive rights. I laid on a table and was bound in plastic wrap as an homage to Sheree’s previous iterations of “Resurrection Redux.” Sheree flogged me, Dulcinea, and Kayla before Sheree cut me out of the plastic wrap. I then inched down the ten-foot table until reaching the edge, where Kayla and Alecia held my legs open while Dulcinea held her hand. Sheree then performed a simulated abortion, removing a soft sculpted rabbit from my vagina. Sheree then disposed of the rabbit, and we embraced. Sona then placed a lab coat on me. Sheree and I left the gallery holding hands, walking through the audience as we left. This piece was significant in that it was the first sanctioned performance involving Sheree within a university gallery in the United States. The work was documented with a GoPro camera recording Sheree’s POV, and is among one of the first performances to take advantage of new camera technology in this way.
