Just finished The Book of Alchemy by Suleika Jaouad, a collection of writings/journal prompts by various authors .
Here,she had just discovered her leuekmia had returned and was preparing for treatment.

On its opening page I wrote these few lines as a reminder of the alchemy I know so well: I reach for the page like I reach for prayer: to plead, to confess, to commune, to remember that all is not chaos, all is not lost. I reach for it like a reporter's pad: to record something overheard, something glimpsed, some stray thought I don't want to forget. I reach for it like a friend: for company, for counsel. I tell my journal what knots I'm in, and together we untangle the threads. I murmur my dreams and together we arc towards them. I make of this writing a ritual: to mark the thresholds, to traverse the valleys and the peaks, to honor the space between no longer and not yet. The journal is oceanic. it is capacious. It is memory, reverie, distillation. it teaches me to pay attention, to see the world anew, to rearrange the pieces, to play. The journal is tabula rasa and terra incognita. It is a mirror for the self--past, present , and future--and a portal onto the not yet known. It is refuge: a hiding place, a searching place, a finding place. It's where I go to know myself, to uncover the unlived lives within me. Here I create myself. Here I write my way through.

Fast food restaurant in Brighton UK Wimpy was really popular in the 80s but was overtaken by US chains like McDonald's. Back again ,great nostalgia value.

Got a new designer bag today..Anya Hindmarsh... ALDI .😜 ( actually a good quality bag with 10 year replacement guarantee).
Launched Thursday, crazy thing is seeing them on Ebay already for double the price! (Limited edition)
Blue recycled plastic shopping bag with orange and white stripe handles (ALDI colours)and a smiling face logo with text above saying THE UNIVERSAL BAG. At top of bag text - Anya Hindmarsh, the designer. Bought in Aldi shop for a tenner. There are similar collaborations with other supermarkets- Morrisons, yellow, the Co op, turquoise-ish blue, Asda. Green. New Ocado version online only in purple.
