I think this also ties into my other annoyance which is that nothing really gets left messy and unfixable anymore... I kind of feel like there used to be more instances of npcs getting completely fucked over and the wol just had to keep moving. but now we find a convenient solution for everything

it felt like anything could happen in stormblood I think I kinda get it... 5.0 is my favorite but im a bit mad that it just gave all the scions protagonist armor because when we had deaths before they would really hit. And also the convenient healing pig laser still pmo

idk how much overlap there is but back when I was really into granblue (same company) I felt similarly... lots of very fun writing in there that felt like it was kinda being held back by the obligation to explain why certain characters were playable or had new outfits or whatever. its so unfortunate
