Out of that moment came the birth of Christian Socialism, a conviction that the Gospel calls us to challenge inequality & build a society rooted in the common good.

Among those inspired by that struggle were a group of clergy and thinkers, including Frederick Denison Maurice, Charles Kingsley and John Ludlow, who saw in it a deeper truth: that faith and justice belong together.

🙏God of light, thank You for the ordinary moments where Your goodness breaks through. Help us to be people who carry that light into every place — from our homes to our politics.

When we speak up for what’s right, offer kindness when it’s hard, or listen before we judge, we shine a little light in dark places.

As Christians on the Left, we believe that faithful presence, being light in our communities, is the heart of politics for the common good.

As we mark this milestone, we give thanks for all who’ve carried that vision forward and we look ahead with the same conviction that animated Tawney’s work: that Christian faith can still change the world.
