it's public until you are told you are trespassing. Chat to the doorman and he may take you upstairs into the other side of the dome.

Cuz, t's open all day every weekday.

No, it's not is it. Several media reports highlighting possible external funding grants to meanjin.. I can't isolate those sorts of payments from public accounts.
September 4, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Ok, that's interesting. I don't think seperating something like MUP into a cost centre is a problem. It depends on what performance criteria are put in place. I'd be surprised if the mission of MUP was profit.

You seem upset that a video title contained the various topics covered in that video.

There are bound to be other funding sources, donations, bequests, etc. Although government funding for Meanjin had been challenging (if it existed at all).

I'd love to see $ on income by MUP publication. Nothing likely to come close. Nor should it have to. The financial argument is laughable..

seeing as MUP is an expensive business, funded my Melbuni....

Meanjin looks like it was one of the most profiable elements, as in one of lowest loss making.

If financial viability is what the MUP board want, then how can they justify keeping the doors open at all?

screaming out for a hyphen

Yes, that certainly appears to be the case.

In fact, the directors of MUP signed off on the accounts and claim the business is a going concern; the auditors agreed. The only event they noted after the end of the reporting period was entering into a new sales and distribution partnership.
September 4, 2025 at 4:02 AM
according to Melbourne Iniversity Publishing's latest annual report. The uni of Melbourne provides $220,000 in funding for Meanjin, on top of the $1M they provided MUP for other activities. In Note 4a of their accounts, Meanjin subscriptions earned MUP $112,790

as per their 2024 annual report page 132, and if the 200K pa figure to run Meanjin is accurate, yes, you get a free dinner. about.unimelb.edu.au/strategy/ann...

May 16, 2025 at 11:12 AM
2 recent updates without changing any information I can see...
May 16, 2025 at 7:24 AM
Yeah heard that, want to believe it - but not sure how anyone would know

New numbers half hour ago. 206 now, no change to postal received.
May 16, 2025 at 6:18 AM
getting within 100 votes will force a recount. I'm not sure of postals received has been updated today, if not, still a chance for Zoe to get up.

every property flipper does this, it's the only pro argument for stamp duty as it's often the only 'tax' levied on these sorts of people.
