My biggest question is why would the Russians pay for something they could get for free!

It’s the people who drove home in daylight the previous week and are caught out by the clock change.

This seems a far more constructive approach than the annual trap on Magdalen Bridge where police would wait and fine cyclists caught out by the clocks going back.

Both are true though

Thanks. It’s hard enough and expensive for charities to raise money. This is one of the cheapest ways to do so, so we should encourage it

I’d be really surprised if they counted this as their own money and then donated to charity. Even if they did it would be tax neutral.

But it’s not correct. If they got the money they would have to pay tax on it. If they donated it back they would only save the tax on the donations, it wouldn’t offset other taxes

It's not true, just a bit of a myth

No

It's not true
October 22, 2025 at 9:57 AM
I really think that is incorrect. For that to happen you would have to donate to Tesco, not the charity, and then Tesco would have to include within their taxable income. Even if all that were true then their only tax benefit they would be not paying tax on the donation, not against their profits

Ginger and Spice are two young guys who have been doing amazing things with catering for a few years. It’s fantastic that they have got their own permanent place

It’s as wise as running with Zebras

Eh that’s less than one satellite for every 100,000 cars on earth. All the cars are on the 30% flattish land surface. So we can say 1 for every 300,000 cars on earth. And the satellites are at various heights. So your graphic is a massive exaggeration!

An urban state school with 33 pupils in a year would have been shut down years ago.

Yes, back to good ol’ Brexiteer expert-bashing. You can disagree with her without misogyny

Your point is valid but using such a derogatory and sexist description of Rachel Reeves, probably the most qualified chancellor we have ever had, lets your argument down

Some thoughts. Would a station at Oxford North be of benefit? Could this be combined with the Cowley Branch Line as a lot of commuters from West Oxfordshire seem to commute there? Finally, does Oxford Station have the capacity for this, the Cowley Branch Line and the Milton Keynes/Cambridge line?
