I made a discovery while teaching yesterday. Sight reading Bach pieces (admittedly very slowly) is like one of those video games where the challenge is just enough to get you to try again after dying until you realize you had other stuff to do like show your student how to play this piece of music.

So the Democrats are basically powerless and the republicans are all sycophantic toadies. I think the only way this problem gets solved is with us doing whatever we need to do (ideally peacefully) to stop this.

Still trying to dial in the appropriate balance of news consumption. Overdid it last week and fell into a pit. So that was clearly too much.

As a musician and educator I think it’s important to stress that music and the guitar as we know it owe their existence to cultural diversity.
