I wanted ice and snow and cold and loneliness. I wanted struggle and the harsh reality of a world that doesn't care if you live or die. I wanted dark skies spattered with stars and bright snow spattered with blood.

TWSV is told nonlinearly, but the first inciting incident time-wise is when a very impressionable and impulsive prince trusts the wrong sorceress.

Day 3: What's the first line of your book, and why did you choose it?

The Frostwood wore silence like a cloak.

Why: I wanted to immerse the reader in the scene right away and I thought it sounded cool. It's cold, it's quiet, the mc is alone looking for a dangerous creature. 🤷‍♀️
