Built in 1952, Case Study House #16 was one of three houses Craig Ellwood designed for the Case Study program. Unfortunately it’s the only one still standing in its original condition. If you’re in the Bel-Air area go on up and see it from the street — it’s just as cool in person.

The Garduño-Heiser Home was built in 1961 by USC architecture students Raúl Garduño and Peter Heiser as a spec house to prove it was possible to build architecturally interesting homes on steep lots like those found in Silver Lake. 60 years later it's still standing and just as stunning as ever.
