Congresspeople still get paid during the shut down. They have apartments/homes they are renting so its not like they don't pay when they aren't there. Staff may be a different issue, but even still, the Reps themselves can get on TV for FREE and point horrible actions out.

OK, sure, but nowhere in that article does it say DEMS can't be in DC, meeting on their own and getting in front of cameras to talk about this bullshit coming from the Admin. They can and some are doing it. The Speaker may bar the door to the chamber, but that's it.

The Speaker only controls whether the House is in session. Reps don't HAVE to go home! Dems certainly shouldn't be!!
