Qatar’s intelligence agencies must be pretty confident the monitoring devices they’ve installed on that plane will not be detected by US security services. Makes you wonder what zero day exploits they’ve managed to find.

Google’s decision to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico in response to Trump’s decree is a case in point. No one outside of the US is calling it Trump’s new name. (And many in the US aren’t either.) The idea that “place names change all the time” is to be willingly naive.

And no, that doesn’t mean the US government is exactly the same as the Chinese govt. But if US tech firms end up doing the bidding of the US government for business reasons, then we’ve arrived at the same destination by different means.

So sad to hear that all OpenAI’s work on an LLM was ripped off by a bunch of Chinese AI researchers. I wonder why OpenAI’s researchers didn’t think to rip off someone else work. Oh wait…

The real reason for the campaign is to try to grab back some advertising revenue from social media platforms. News Corp papers were less interested in protecting kids from gambling advertising—which was also being debated in the same sitting of parliament.
