He was just assigning meaning based on limited knowledge. Which is fair enough. The key is how you react when someone who knows more points out the reality.

I remember a guy whod got his first ever telescope & taken very first glimpse of the moon close up and in detail. He "discovered" missile launch sites and was keen to spread the warning. What he'd seen was the sun hitting the central peak of craters along the terminator.

Amzon pricing for rare books is totally doolally. I see this but when I click on "Paperback" the cheap used ones go away and I see the same as you. I remember reading an interesting article about how the rarer the book, the more crazy the prices are likely to be because of algorithmic price setting.

I'm always interested in what the stories behind the names might be. "Playing Place" nr Truro is one I always wondered about until I looked it up and apparently used to be the site of a theatre. Didn't occur to me or might be that meaning of "playing"

Most cider in the US is alcohol free as I found out to my disappointment. Got home from the shop with some Martinelli's Sparkling Cider only to find I'd bought appletizer.
