My suspicion is that he thought of p-hacking as a creative process. Like that's how he thought one could stumble on a potentially real effect. Just throwing throwing tests at data. But QRP aside, is that even creativity? Is it creative when one throws spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks?

I once attended an inaugural address for a prof who declared that he felt that pre-registration is "the death of creativity in psychological science". I personally think he was telling on himself with that statement. But I wonder if others feel this way for reasons that are perhaps defensible.
