I’ve not been back for 20 years (before it was cool flex) but it feels like it was designed for a fantasy novel (two great rivers merge, very mountainous, head of a misty gorge) and looks like a sci-fi film. That will have a powerful grip on the western nerd.

Soft boy Yaoi Klingon feels a bit of a questionable choice for the first gay of a species that are the opposite of that, but I’m not sure the world is ready for leather dom S&M daddy Klingon, so it’s fine.

I’ve put a deposit down on Faye doing a Jazz version of Tragedy for the funeral.

Good luck! You’ll be fine hun. Love you.

Never have I wanted to hit anything with a mallet so much.

I really miss Ricki Lake.

Nothing will ever hit as good as 11 year old me watching 90s Pandora Boxx tell 90s Darienne Lake that she’s “too fat to be a drag queen”. It wasn’t true, but it was a revelation.

Passing information to GCHQ seems cute somehow; if it’s worth knowing they probably know it already, if you know it they probably don’t give a shit.

Peter and Aubrey?

I don’t understand it but I see it.

Yeah I went from northern England to uni in London and just did not really get people there. I can’t explain why but the culture just felt so alien despite being 200 miles away and in the same country. Loads of high school and recent friends, but low single figures for uni.

I once heard Vine use a both sides argument to imply to a holocaust survivor that maybe the Nazis had a point.

“This time the bubble is a new paradigm.”

Oh fuck off. The railways were a new paradigm and they were one of the biggest bubbles ever to exist. Even if worked it’d still be 50% grift.

Why not meet coercion with passive aggression?

I don’t know but I guess because if I I recognised I was being abused my first thought would not be to be so antagonistic I’d genuinely punch myself.

The admin cost alone would be hilarious.

Everything about Red Dwarf is great aside from Lister losing his virginity to a character genuinely named after my mum. That bit is weird.

When your answer to the question “what was the problem with Maggie?” is “she didn’t have people who wrote her letters about Greenham Common arrested” then that’s how you know you’re doing Labour politics well.

These people are vile.

Let’s create an ambiguous legal status that could also be applied to football fans. Or Swifties. Or people on Facebook who really hate Megan Markle. Fuck it I’d actually quite like that. If we’re going to go fascist let’s at least go down swinging.

Well now I want to go to this tour.

I need to be in a quiz team so we can name it “nonbinary khia”.

Oh god yes, but I do not understand why Khia became its poster girl; she vi at least had a memorable hit. Someone like Willa Ford would make so much more sense.

As a Brit it wouldn’t surprise me if Satan had been controlling our government for the last 400-odd years. Our reformation was too sexy not to curse us in some fairly significant way.

What a lot of SF tv misses for me at the moment is the tone shifts that give the characters depth. If Odo was just a fascist cop on a journey of angsty self discovery he’d be OK, but add a petty feud with quark and some Troi flirting etc. and we see many more sides to him.
