even though it's wholly unsurprising to see the political establishment act so spineless, i'm still brain broken by it all.

i know you know this, but i feel compelled to vocalize it: more we normalize intentionally evil policies by intellectualizing them, the more we normalize the underlying evil.

but also fair warning: it was written in 1937 from an anti-colonial lens and there are a few very cringey positive references to the soviet union. it's just a few lines while wrapping up one or two chapters in the book but i feel obligated to mention they exist

i recently read the black jacobins by clr james. it's the history of the haitian revolution told from a haitian perspective

it was super motivating/inspiring. there are parallels to noth ukrainian history and contemporary politics. i feel grounded for the oncoming fascist trump era after reading it

tbh that's just establishment politics: wait for a predictable problem to occur, let it fester while hemming and hawing about what to do, then slap on an inadequate solution that comes too late

it's especially infuriating when it's applied to life and death situations, like war and atrocity crimes

if we're talking national presidential politics among the two major parties, then i can probably concede the point.

but it's still important for a myriad of reasons to run candidates in districts/states you know you can't win. in those cases, losing doesn't immediately imply you ran a poor campaign

i disagree that any losing campaign was inherently poorly run, but kamala definitely miscalculated and made poor decisions. you don't lose ground among practically every demographic to a literal fascist and get landslided in the electoral college if you ran a good campaign

if you think jackson hinkle is a russian shill, i'll have you know that he doesn't get paid a fraction of what tim pool and dave rubin got. he simps for russian colonialism practically for free 😤

i agree it was a shared cultural experience, but i do think, above all, it was mostly elder abuse.

i had so many bots artificially inflating my follower count on twitter, and now i'm never going to reach 1000 followers 😭
