Their whole platform is built on user-generated content, and this font already shows up everywhere in their app and videos. By making it public, they’re just letting their brand spread even further, way beyond their own app.

It’s not just that open-sourcing a custom typeface is smart — it’s smart because it’s TikTok doing it.

And by the way, I think it’s important to be open about this and not pretend everything is perfect: I still sometimes struggle with anxiety.

But therapy has been incredibly helpful, so things are getting better.

As a user I can say that Central Icon System is fully customizable (Line <> Solid, 3 stroke widths, 5 corner styles) and they have a very easy to use Figma plugin 👌

For me, it’s a cost-effective icon set for me because the different corner styles let you reuse it for various projects.
