I woke up this morning to a day off from work (with pay). I woke up in a dry, warm house. My day is open to spend with family and friends as we decide. I have the freedom to enjoy fireworks and loud cars, or to complain about both. I have choices.
But part of me didn't want to open my eyes.

Well, after a 2% cost of living raise, increase in health insurance, and adjusted taxes, my 2025 weekly pay is only $2.86 less than it was in 2024. Not the biggest hit I've taken over the years. Lately the check goes down more often than up.
Am I $2.86 less motivated? Sometimes exponentially.
