My earlier comments were more about interpersonal conversations and relationships, not public figures

That’s fair, but I don’t fault folks for being upset about his actions, and trying to find a better way to do politics/ politicians that better reflect their own values and politics.

I just want to throw in the idea that in practice, I don’t think any individual should be expected or obligated to discuss/debate with another person or group that wish them harm, dehumanize them.

But we do need to be having conversations, and those that can do it, absolutely should.
