Now that McSweeney is gone, Labour may get better with their communications to the general public and cut through the lies these innocent people believe. We'll have to wait and see.

Don't know about the US but not seen any overall rise in availability of vegan alternatives in the UK since 2020 when I went vegan. Been stagnant the entire time I've been vegan except 2020 when the last overall increase happened. They rose substantially from 2017 to 2020 then froze at 2020 levels.

Oh yeah I went there the other day. Greengrocers like that are an increasingly rare sight. First time visiting Louth. I plan to go regularly now after finding out how nice Louth really is. A two hour bus ride from my Lincolnshire town and you have to change at Lincoln but it's worth it.

Thankfully I never have to worry whether alcohol is vegan 'cause I never drink it anyway and rarely have fizzy drinks, although nearly all fizzy drinks are vegan. I forget alcoholic drinks even exist, only to be reminded when I see them on restaurant menus or on shelves in shops.

There are still some people who've never heard of Farage. When I mentioned Farage to people within the last 6 months, some of them said "Who's Nigel Farage?" so I explained. They're the types of people who never look at the news, know nothing about politics and never vote in elections.

Yes exactly, he's in the news a lot nowadays and that's how most people in England now have at least heard of Musk, but that's only been the case for the past 7 years or so. He rarely ever appeared on British mainstream media until then and A LOT of people pay no attention to the news.

You Americans have probably been familiar with Musk much longer than we have in England because he's American so he'll have appeared in your media a lot more. As I said in another comment, most people in England were not familiar with Musk until Tesla started becoming widespread in the late 2010s.

Look, almost nobody except for a few tech enthusiasts and wealthy businessmen from London had heard of Elon Musk until the late 2010s when Tesla started to become popular and he appeared in the media regularly.

Well it's not purely just a greengrocer like what we used to have, it's a local independent food shop (not a convenience shop) with a loose fruit & veg section which takes up a large portion of the shop. Greengrocers nowadays have to sell other things to stay in business.
