Question for artists who sell their work at conventions (artist alley): what types products of yours sell the most, and what would you say is the average transaction in $ per customer? I’m trying to determine if selling masks would make sense, and/if I should diversify my products. #art #artist

Here's my final "Loki's Mask" from the film "The Mask". After many hours and lots of trial and error, I'm really thrilled with the final result. #loki #themask #mask #lokimask

Two questions for you:
1. Is this something you'd buy if available online?
2. What mask should I sculpt next?

A work-in-progress Loki's Mask sculpt from "The Mask". I still have several revisions to do and some clean up & texture work, but so far I'm very content with the direction. I'm trying to get it within the ball park of movie accuracy. #mask #sculpting #themask #loki #jimcarrey #art #clay

Finished my Zora Mask to finally complete the trio from "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask". These are my own custom and grim reimagining, trying to be more true to the characters upon their deaths. Now to complete a set with a traditional color scheme. #zelda #art #mask #majora #majorasmask

My two sculpted Goron Masks from "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask", based on my own original concept; in my "death" series, I'm aiming to design masks that feel more like snapshots of these iconic characters' demises. So I did a traditional paint job, and an alternate "frozen" one #zelda #art

Two weeks ago I did two back-to-back 48 hour fasts and had great results, so I'm doing it again (24 hours done of the first). Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel like there's a literal sensation to "fat burning", almost like a light sun tan, but internal (if that makes sense). #fasting

Question for graphic designers: what are some valuable questions (and other habits) that you ask clients to more confidently narrow down a design direction and help guarantee their satisfaction with the results? #graphicdesign #design #branding #art #commission #logos #logo

Here are the two Deku Masks I made this year. For years I wanted to learn to make silicone molds and resin casts, so this was my "trial by fire". I did two very different takes in terms of the color scheme and am beyond thrilled with the results. #Zelda #majorasmask #art #masks

As a Canadian, I currently feel a flurry of emotions. I love my American neighbours, but Trump and his cult have brewed up a patriotic anger in me. His behaviour is disgraceful, and I pray that good people won’t stand idly by and do nothing in these dark times. 🇨🇦

Today was my last day at WB Games. It was hard to say goodbye because of the people. My first foray into the video game industry was graced with some truly special individuals - some of the best I’ve had the fortune to work with.

Off to a new adventure I go! May the wind carry me to a bright future

My journey learning #python thus far:
1. Here's a tutorial on how to create functions, lists, and using some of the basic built-in methods.
2. Okay, now write code for a complex calculator using ultra-specific parameters we never taught you to use.

The sudden intimidation has crushed my soul

“Amadeus” did not disappoint! It was a pretty big film on my bucket list, so I felt compelled to scratch it off before the end of 2024. Such a fantastic examination of two people who simultaneously loathe and respect each other with such intensity. #amadeus #mozart #movies #film #cinema

I’m currently watching “Metropolis” and am absolutely blown away. I used to naively think that silent #movies were archaic and technically outdated, yet now I’m stunned by the opposite: massive complex sets, bold visions, and technical mastery! Amazing! #film #cinema #silentfilms

I’ve quickly come to love Tubi. Sure, there are ad breaks, but I never feel bombarded with them. Plus there’s a great selection of movies and TV I haven’t seen anywhere else.

I just finished watching Tank Girl and have so many mixed thoughts. It’s a great example of a film I don’t like, but respect nonetheless for doing something so stylistically different and boldly.

In November I watched 38 #movies (I'm aiming for 366 in the 366 days of 2024). Choosing my personal Top 10 was really tough. Lots of incredible heavy-hitters. Only 32 left to go in order to cross the finish line. Let's go! #film #cinema

In my pursuit of watching all Hellraiser films, “Revelations” ironically encapsulates the theme of pleasure and pain: it is so bad that it becomes hilarious again. It could have been decent, but unfortunately it squanders any potentially interesting narrative beats.

"Destroying is better than creating when we're not creating those few truly necessary things. But is there anything so just and true in this world that it has the right to live?" (Fellini's "8 1/2")

A good quote about creation/destruction makes me think of @mrsambarlow.bsky.social's Immortality.

Watching “The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz”, and as a Montrealer, the first few scenes alone bring a huge smile to my face. It’s always surreal when you see streets and shops you’ve physically been to up on the silver screen. Worlds collide as fiction and reality blurs a little. #movies #montreal

Am I the only one who experiences a lot of “imposter syndrome” when it comes to creating art?
