I want to state this as clearly as I can: Nearly choking up on national TV as you lament your falling stock price is weak shit. And it gets to the core of how Musk operates. In a particularly get-over-yourselves moment in January, Axios described Musk and Trump's governing style as "masculine maximalism," embodied by "tough-guy language, macho actions...and often unmoved by emotionalism, empathy or restraint." But back on Earth, the Tesla boss can be better understood in schoolyard terms. He can dish it but he can't take it. Far from a projection of strength, Musk's boastful and threatening public comments show a thin-skinned man who behaves erratically in the face of adversity—a snowflake, to use the preferred nomenclature, who melts down when he begins to feel the heat.

"The government is not efficient, and there is a lot of waste and fraud, so we feel confident that a 15% reduction can be done without affecting any of the critical government services," he said. Musk's team said it saved the country $115 billion by slashing wasteful and redundant spending. Not everyone agrees, but he feels he has the country on track and he can step aside. "I think we will accomplish most of the work required to reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars within (130 days)," Musk said. "Our goal is to reduce the waste and fraud by $4 billion a day, every day, seven days a week. And so far, we are succeeding.

"Privatization" was coined in English descriptions of the German experience in the mid-193os. In the early twentieth century, many European economies featured state ownership of vital sectors. Reprivatisierung, or re-privatization, marked the Nazi regime's efforts to de-nationalize sectors of the German economy. As Bel notes, "German privatization of the 1930s was intended to benefit the wealthiest sectors and enhance the economic position and political support of the elite." The Nazis sold off public ownership in "steel, mining, banking, shipyard, ship-lines, and railways. J" These had originally been nationalized in the early 1930s because of the economic disaster of the Great Depression. However, Bel argues that Nazi privatization was set "within a framework of increasing state control of the whole economy through regulation and political interference." Uncooperative industrialists, like the head of the Junkers aircraft company, were removed from their positions; the market was very much controlled by the party.
