This is all such a farce and distraction from the threat of looming terror and deportations. A circus of evil. I’m waiting patiently for the socialized social media platform that Mexico is working on.

Definitely at the local level, but the infrastructure to process or organize en masse has been lost. Even if it comes back, it won’t be the same. The level of solidarity and community that was on TikTok just doesn’t exist on other platforms.

I think if the role TikTok played in alerting communities in Bakersfield Cali when the raids started was critical to warn people and also show the humanity and cruelty if mass deportations. We won’t have this tool in Chicago next week.

Mexico is starting a nationalized social media platform. I think there should be a PBS version of social media. But the USA is hostile to public commons.

The content the algorithm on Twitter pushes is vile. The bots clutter the feed too. It feels spammy and like its designed to appeal to our lowest instincts. I will miss girlypop stan twitter though, can all the queers move over to blue sky already?
