I'm glad you're now in a position to express your rage with the rest of us.

You should be enraged. We should all be enraged. About all of it. Unfortunately, with every engaging thing, it becomes harder for many to maintain their rage.

Or I could be completely wrong. See also: No Kings protests.

Hell, I was there for a lot more than that back in the day. :)

Enjoy your well-earned rest. And thank you for your service, my friend.

It can be both. It likely is both, combined with other factors.

This is a direct consequence of our society devaluing arts and literature. There's no reason to pirate books. Ever.

As I told my sister, I even have David Tennant-style sideburns trying to come in. I hope that by the time I visit the Windy City for graduation, they'll be full. 😉

I know I haven't been the best at showing it. Hell, I've been pretty shitty and unfair to you over the years. But you were very important to me in a very difficult time of my life, and I'm glad you're still here. And I am very proud of you for finishing your manuscript.

Was that this weekend? Did you survive?

You know what is good and full of representation? Percy Jackson and all the books in that universe. I have only read a few, including the complete original series. What I read was quite good. Ignore the movies. They were trash. However, the D+ series was charming as hell and a lot more accurate.

HP hit at a very particular time in my life. I read the first two books for a YA literature class, and I was hooked. As I've gotten older, I've seen a lot of the cracks in the story. The bigotry that pervades the series becomes more obvious when you take off the rose-colored glasses.
