In the camp, life is painfully hard earning just 44p a day working in nearby fields to feed her children.

This Christmas, you can stand with mothers like Chance. Stand with women whose love is stronger than fear, whose courage keeps families alive 👉https://caid.org.uk/CCQ

Carrying her baby on her back and with her seven other children on foot, she set out into the night. Walking 50 miles, through fear and hunger, until they reached Katashola Camp.

Chance hasn’t seen her husband since that night. She still doesn’t know if he’s alive.

Part 3/3:
May your peace surround those in fear,
your light guide those in darkness,
and your justice move us to rebuild with courage and compassion.
In the name of Christ, our shelter and our strength,
Amen.

Part 2/3:
Be with those who mourn, those who are missing loved ones,
and those who face the loss of homes, livelihoods, and hope.
Grant strength to all who bring relief and comfort —
neighbours, aid workers, and communities standing together in love.

Since 1996, more than 6M lives have been lost. Today, over 70% of people survive on less than £1.50 a day.

Armed groups like M23 have been active since late 2021 & earlier this year fighting intensified again, uprooting families & deepening an already dire crisis.

💬 ‘I have a fragile feeling of hope. A hope that Gaza could recover and life could return to how it was before the war. A hope that Gaza could rise from under the rubble.’ - Reham, communications co-ordinator with Christian Aid’s partner in Gaza, Women’s Affairs Centre (WAC).

Reham and her colleagues have worked tirelessly with no breaks for 2yrs on the frontline.

The current ceasefire has given them a chance to mourn. They’ve not had the luxury to grieve over the past 2yrs. Now they're returning home they’re having to work hand in hand to rebuild.
