It's definitely both/and, though!
Some people need to hear the reality of the policies, while others need to come to terms with the base sentiments. Or at least be publicly held accountable for them.

I get the focus on policies, for sure! But I think salutes and similar are more than a deflection. They're driving a narrative and building momentum with certain people.
Calling them out for what they are is important when so many people/media are still determined to pretend it's not *really* that.

I mean, both matter. Propaganda and distraction feed the machine that runs the insane and dangerous agenda. They aren't just doing it because they couldn't think of anything better to do at that moment.
