I haven’t done sufficient research on that front to answer that confidently, but I will say is that these type of patterns can be detected and there should be more coordination work between stakeholders to 1) identify it 2) address it properly, which is currently not happening.

and it often goes back to having adequate facilitation, having a deep respect and understanding of the role of ground rules + what prevents people from participating in them (e.g work, familial commitments, health, etc)

2) social media platforms should all have dedicated fact-checkers (people not just automated tools) that can immediately label content images uploaded. these efforts can be led through a regulatory body that supports standards making processes for interoperability
