Snail pace: "A garden snail named Archie covered a 13 inch course in 2 minutes."

Assuming a determined snail can keep this up for 12 hours a day, it would cover 1325km in 4 years.

It is 1,315km from Donetsk to the Polish border.

At snail's pace Russia should have conquered all of Ukraine by now.

At the top, US aid to Ukraine. At the bottom the numbers of missile and drone attacks that have been causing all this suffering.

Admit it, Rubio, you haven't been working at all, have you?

And the worst one of all, The Putin.

Worshipped by Russians, he has an insatiable appetite for land and power and is capable of sacrificing an almost endless supply of serfs in his quest for more of it.

Supports kidnapping children, bombing kindergartens and hunting down innocent civilians.

Yesterday looking at the list of refineries hit up to now, I was just thinking that Orsk had to be next on the list ...

Wildfires in Spain.

Is the main reason that they are so bad this year (a) climate change (supported by scientists and firefighters) or (b) a group of organised pyromaniacs (as proposed by the opposition PP politicians)? 🤔

This is where the fires have been over the last 7 days according to NASA.

"Unfortunately, the rate at which humans are now injecting CO2 into the oceans and atmosphere today far surpasses the planet’s ability to keep pace. We are now at the initial stages of a system failure. If we keep at it for much longer, we might see what actual failure really means."

“The signal in these data is particularly frightening, rising global temperatures are making forests hotter and drier, and as a result, more likely to burn. Given human ignition, even remote rainforests can burn uncontrolled."

“This is a dangerous feedback loop we cannot afford to trigger further."

Looks like the fascists have won in Britain. That's not something you see every day.

I got as far as "Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to join Ramstein"

Here's a close up of one of the two areas.

I am most definitely not an expert, but my guess is that these boxes may have held missiles (old images, obviously).

There is what seems to be a truck on the right half way up to give an idea of the likely scale.

I think it is unlikely the planes have been hit. In the image the area hit is in the top right corner and the nearest edge of the airstrip is 1km away.

The google images also show large stockpiles of missiles in the two areas between the bombed section and the runways, so plenty of targets left ...

That's rubbish. Putin doesn't see Ukrainians as people and sends Russian soldiers to die in droves in meat waves. He's threatened the rest of the world with ballistic missiles.

Besides, if he really did want to stop people dying, all he would have to do is get out of the country he just invaded.

No problem, I am sure that Russia can make up much of the shortfall in no time with solar panels and wind turbines.

2021 was a high point for climate alarm. Since then, the right wing fightback against net zero has gained more and more traction. But the world hasn't stopped warming.

The right tilts at windmills to deflect the blame, but if we don't take climate action NOW, the world will only fall apart faster.
