Clerides did not take practical steps to place Cyprus in the western camp? Really? So what would you call applying for membership and joining the EU? Procrastination? Wishful thinking? Clerides did more to make Cyprus a truly western state than any other Cypriot politician.

This article clearly is biased as it tells half truths. Without suggesting that the proposed bizonal solution is perfect, the proposition of the writer that it does not reunite Cyprus is false. The return of thousands of Cypriots to their homelands, even as a minority, is the crux of the solution.
