Hydrogen Cyanide was a 'waste' product of BASF but a cheap feedstock for Cassel Works' Acrylonitrile Plant.

I'm pretty sure the Hydrogen Cyanide trains ran until the late 80s and they would have had to use that line but no way of establishing it.
The trains were limited to a maximum of 6 tankers with buffer wagons at either end and a low maximum speed.

The Clarence Line also served chemical works on the North Tees / Seal Sands sites.
I remember watching Hydrogen Cyanide tankers being transported from BASF to Cassel Works via the I.C.I. Billingham marshalling yards.
