The last nuclear age was defined by the United States and the Soviet Union.

"Today’s global nuclear landscape is far more complicated and, in many ways, more precarious."

Opinion | Why we should worry about nuclear weapons again
Deadlier weapons, more nations, autocrats in charge, disinformation and collapsing arms control — the risk of nuclear catastrophe is back.

People old enough may remember Trump making noises about lowering grocery prices way back in 2024.
Well, now we’re tracking how well that’s going — just in time for his tariffs to kick in.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

Why even the most “American” cars could get much pricier with tariffs in Canada and Mexico (free link) wapo.st/4i0xtX1
See how tariffs could make your next car cost thousands more
From raw metal to engines, components travel all over North America before they’re put into cars. What happens if they’re taxed at every stop?

One of my absolute favorite projects I worked on last year was this fantastic piece on why you shouldn’t buy roses for Valentine’s Day. Written and coded by the wonderful @ashendruk, she provided a fun opportunity for me to learn how to create pixel art.

A few years ago, back when I was in Outlook and working with Michelle as a freelancer she mentioned that she'd like to do more portrait work.

So, I guess the lesson here is: Be careful what you wish for.

Seriously. Michelle's work on this months-long project has been nothing short of stunning.
This morning, @postopinions.bsky.social unveiled a redesign including new portraits of ALL the columnist drawn by yours truly. It was an honor to be trusted with such a crucial piece of the launch. Over the course of a few months I did around 85 portraits.
