Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

This and also a reminder from my personal experience: if you get caught in a rip tide, swim parallel to the shore, not toward it. I didn't know that and think I would have drowned had I not been swimming with a friend who was a former life guard. He dragged me to shore.

All #NIH grants have now terminated here at #Harvard, including ours, which examined shared/distinct underlying neural & cognitive mechanisms between typical/atypical #arithmetic and #reading skills. Results would have been invaluable for development of #screening, diagnostic, & intervention tools.
