@altonbrown.bsky.social, I met you in a gas station today and I said words that I think are English words but I was a little too star struck (and we were both maybe a little too road weary) for me to say what I wanted: you taught me how to cook, how to love to cook, and how to understand cooking.

I'm re-reading @scottlynch78.bsky.social's incredible Lies of Locke Lamora (for research on something I'm doing but also because the book is just so damn good) and I'm not sure I've got anything to say, really, just glad the dude's still writing and wanted to express my appreciation for his work.

I dunno who needs to hear this but if you're throwing garbage all over a movie theater for a tiktok trend, you're a garbage person.

After everything that's happened in the last two months, it's just a real solid kick in the nuts to hear @npr.org doing a promo for a book on AI co-written by Henry fucking Kissinger.

Hey liberal protest voters, still feeling like you made the moral choice?

Oh my god, there's a couple on a date at the bar next to me talking about how Trump was needed because the government is filled with people who "steal and embezzle and nothing ever happens."

Picking the guy because they think he's tough on white collar crime is a helluva take.

For no particular reason, video games (from all... divisions?) that IMHO) tell amazing stories:

Deus Ex
Horizon Zero Dawn
The Witcher III
Far Cry 5
KOTOR (both, fight me)
Disco Elysium
Cyberpunk 2077
Shadowrun (all 3)
BG3 (natch)
Spiritfarer
Divinity 2 Original Sin
RDR I & II
My two early takeaways so far from marathoning Nolan films during break:

1. I wish video games could tell more mature and compelling stories (sometimes they do, but especially in the AAA space, a lot really don't tbh)

2. This muhfucka Nolan hates wives

Everyone quoted in here is fully stupid and the journalist that didn't challenge statements like "Harris chose the path of Liz Cheney... and abandoning working families" is a big part of the problem.

Leaders of 'Uncommitted' and 'Abandon Harris' movements reflect on Trump's victory and early moves
A combination of worry and cautious optimism about Trump — and deep anger at the Democratic Party — pervade the groups.

Coming to see you in Atlanta in May, @pftompkins.bsky.social, don't worry.

Just really struggling to understand the mindset of +7k people who liked this.

We'll be lucky to have extant bald eagles in the country after the idiot y'all let walk back into office is finished gutting every regulatory agency in the United States.
My bipartisan legislation to recognize the Bald Eagle as our national bird just passed Congress and is now headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law! 🦅

If @onthemedia.bsky.social is right and most of the 18-25 set is getting their news from social media influencers, we are fucking cooked, folks.
